Privacy

Protecting your privacy is of special importance to us; that being said, we exclusively process your data in conformity with the applicable law (GDPR, Austrian Telecommunications Act - 2003). The following privacy policy statement informs you about the most relevant aspects of data processing within the scope of our website.

1. Name and address of the individual /entity responsible for processing data

2. Collection of personal data

Upon visiting our website, we merely store access data via so-called server-log files; these are data your browser automatically provides, without any specific reference to individuals, that is:

  • Type/version of browser
  • Language setting of browser
  • Operating system in place
  • Referrer-URL (previously visited page)
  • Host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
  • Time and date of server query

These data cannot be traced to any specific individuals; furthermore, the data are not combined with other data sources; besides, these data are deleted after a statistical analysis. To this end, user traffic on our website is stored in server log files, including the IP–address. In this process, the IP address is automatically anonymized by deleting the last two digits. These log files are prepared monthly for statistical purposes by way of analysis software and subsequently deleted; we have no way of tracing these data to any specific individual while using them.
Some functional features on our website ask the user to state personal data such as name, e-mail address etc; name and other data may be provided voluntarily here. Data voluntarily provided by users via the “Registration” form are stored in an encrypted server-site database. The data collected are intended to be used for the purpose of sending the SAPS3 research group newsletter and further communications concerning the participation in the SAPS3D study project. These data are not to be shared with any external parties.
We process your data on servers located in Austria, hence within the purview of the EU Data Protection framework.

3. Data Processing on behalf

Based on a separate agreement concerning the processing of personal data on behalf your data (as set forth in point 2) will be collected, processed and used by our web host all-inkl (https://all-inkl.com) within the purview of processing data on behalf as set forth in Art 28 GDPR in conformity with the respective applicable provisions; access data are exclusively stored on servers located in Austria; however, this does not imply a transfer of your data to a third party in terms of data protection; it is the SAPS3 research group that is accountable to you in terms of data protection.

4. Rights of individuals concerned

The right to withdraw consent

You have the right to withdraw or revoke your consent to storing your personal data at any time; as well, you have the right to revoke, at any time, the consent to collecting and storing any additional data you provided voluntarily. We would like to point out that we check your identity for the purpose of protecting your privacy and security before you may adopt any such measures. If you want to withdraw your consent as to the future use of your data and/or wish to revoke your consent granted, you want to turn to the following address, ideally by supplying a copy of your ID: dataprotection@saps3.org; in the event you revoke your consent to storing, processing, and using your personal data, we will immediately erase and block access to them.

Erasure, deletion (“the right to be forgotten”), and rectification of your personal data

You also have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data we have stored, to withdraw consent, to have access blocked to them, to have them erased and to have them rectified, respectively; in addition, you also have the right to get your data transferred to other parties.

The right to obtain information

You may request to obtain information from us whether and to what extent we process your data.

The right to lodge a complaint

In case you think that we are violating Austrian or European Data Protection Law while processing your data, we may ask you to contact us in order to clear up any pending issues; it goes without saying that you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority, and a Supervisory Authority within the EU, as of May 25, 2018, as well.

5. Privacy and Cookies

Our site uses cookies; small text files that enable specific, customized information on the user's terminal while using the website; in particular, cookies lend themselves to determining the number of clicks and number of users of the pages, analysing behavioural aspects of using the pages, and customizing our offerings; cookies remain stored until after the end of a browser session and may be reactivated while visiting the site again; If you do not wish to do so you may always change the browser setting so as to block or disable cookies altogether.

6. Data Retention

Personal data are stored over the course of the period pursuant to the applicable retention law; the respective data are subsequently routinely deleted so long as they are no longer required for the purpose of fulfilling or initiating a contract. In any event, pursuant to the Austrian Civil Code, data must be kept for up to 30 years in order to fend off legal claims within the purview of liability for damages or unjust enrichment.

7. Updating the pertinent provisions

SAPS 3 research group reserves the right to amend, at any time, the current provisions according to the business requirements, if need be.
